1/50 Norscot (factory red) US Forest Service Cat 320 with my metal Brush Rake and Thumb. I added a new undercarriage (larger), front and top window guards, boom lights, metal railings, fire suppression unit, an ax, GPS, beacon light, and decals. I replaced the boom/stick rivet, boom cylinder rivets with pins, and tightened the cylinder rods. 😁 100_5858 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_5860 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_5859 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_5864 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_5863 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_5861 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_5862 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/> 100_5865 by Ken Wheeler, on Flickr"/>

Nice work, Ken! Do you know which ranger district paints their equipment red? The ones in my area leave all their equipment OEM colors. Facebook: NorCalDiecastCustomsInstagram: NorCalDiecastCustomsClifton

As far as I know LA County FD is the only one that paints them red. Many years ago Greg at Steel City Constuckion painted a D8 dozer red after seeing a picture of one of LACO's red D8R's and put US Forest Service decals on it. These models became popular in the model world and still sell well today. 1st Gear did some no name models in red, calling them Forestry Equipment. Here is one of mine.

Ohhh I see, that's how the legend was born hahaha. It'd be cool to see some of their red fire equipment in person, 95% of the stuff we see on wildfires around here is private contractor. Facebook: NorCalDiecastCustomsInstagram: NorCalDiecastCustomsClifton
