That Joal trailer, have you made it shorter? It looked far too long,as a tipper tailer. The 1/1pics look shorter.I always wanted to make it shorter, but did not want to cut it.

Modelmaniac, Based on existing Tisvol units, I currently have 2 Joal tipping semi-trailers: - a "Basculante Integral", which is untouched yet: the oversized hydraulic ram system has to be modified not to protrude over the tipper. Except for that, it is correctly modeled by Joal as it 12.50 metres long, resulting in it being mainly used for light products, such as cereals (left), - a "Bañera Integral" model, which is the shortened version of the Joal model. It is in reality "only" 10 metres long (right). This Tisvol unit is mainly used in Spain for conventional products moved on construction sites: I hope it helps. Guy

Even though they are models of 2 slightly different vehicles - Bedford fitted with a Plaxton coach body of 11 metres long and 2.4 metres wide reproduced in a 1/50 scale by Corgi and Bedford/Duple coach (11.50x2.5 metres) produced in a 1/48 scale by Dinky Toys - it is difficult not to compare both models, representing coaches built on a similar Bedford chassis, produced with a nearly 40 years gap: The Dinky Toys Bedford/Duple VAL14 coach: VAL14/Vega Major C52F 6x2/4 coach bodied by Duple on a Bedford chassis (modified Dinky Toys model) Regards. Building by Jean-Francois of a Berliet TR305 tractor, using a MiniCams kit with homemade roof and cab rear panel (*): Note (*): sharp eyes may have noted the "orange peel" effect of the top cab paint. For the first time in his long career of experienced model maker, JF failed in painting the cab, using an out-of-date paint tin. As all his mods of the resin cab were made of plastic foils, he preferred to avoid a complete clean-up before repaint. Regards. Guy
