Or you can also use the DM XL 120 set also ;) I am sure the 3x3x3 arrangement should be enough capacity too.

I have worked already on my WSI Peterbilt 379 tractor: it is now fitted with a modified Conrad ex-Freightliner FLD112 dumper 2nd axle I found in my spare box (which has the same dimensions than Pete's front axle): The Joal model already got 3 sets of Diecast Masters ex-XL Specialized booster and stinger dual wheels (saved from other sets) and I plan in addition to modify its rear bed + central well + ramps and to build a new specific gooseneck for it: Regards. in UK, when one could see on British roads 60ft (18.28 metres) semi-trailers without any rear tandem steering system at all (I wonder what the turning circle of such combination could be!): AEC Mammoth Major 6 6x4/2 tractor (modified Corgi model, to be repainted) and its Boden 2-axle flatbed 60' semi-trailer (made from bits and pieces from my spare box), loaded with a 29 tonnes IPV Ltd cement industry autoclave vessel (homemade, to be painted) Regards. In UK still and around the same period of time, a famous heavy tow truck operated by Chris Miller Transport Ltd - Preston (Lancashire): Mack F 886 SX 6x4/2 tractor fitted with a ballast box with on-board winch (Tekno model) The tow truck should later move a Cometto 3+2-line modular trailer (ASAM kit) loaded with a 51.53 tonnes papermill drying cylinder (modified Corgi load) within the premises of Walmsleys Ltd's Chorley factory (the Lancashire-based company specialized in manufacturing that type of equipment). Just for info, the Rogers Ultima unit has a lifting 3rd axle: it could therefore have been turned easily into a "2-axle lowboy" with no mods as, to my knowledge, there is no such unit in the 1/50 world. I hope this helps. Guy

Wildpig1234;
I haven't seen such a scene myself, long gone these days. But I remember, being a kid, to meet in South of France a Richier three-wheeler road roller, moving (slowly) and towing its living van to the next working site: the driver/operator was remaining on site for the duration of road repairs, which could take a few days. For info, that Hamm 8.5 VTD road roller was produced from 1958 to 1980 at approx. 1300 units. Its main characteristics was the ability to "crawl" sideways (we call that "walking like a crab" in France, see first picture above), expanding its basic track of 1m25 by almost 50%.
I hope this helps. Guy
