Bug Don't own the 1300 (yet). But I think there's not point to compare. The 1280 is an "old" conrad model. Although, I'm very happy with mine, as the rest of my models.

they are both great models, but the 1300 just has more detail as its made by NZG. plus it can have the derrick.

Bug There really is no comparison. There is nothing particularly wrong with the LR1280 and at the time it was released it was considered on of the best crawlers on the market. However, NZG have really raised the bar in terms of detail and quality for a reasonable price with the LR1300. It is a 'must have' crawler crane! Paul R

Dear all, Wife away for the weekend so time to play with the 11200 jib  Have to say that this took far longer than anticipated to rig up! I put the jib together last night whilst watching TV, which was pretty straight forward. I then did the rest this morning but it still took 3 1/2hrs!! Too windy outside so I had to take pictures indoors. Ignore the walls as they are in the process of being repainted and will become my model room Pics:      I had no issues with attaching the luffing winch thanks to advise on here, but I did manage to shear off the square piece that the winch key fits too. Guess it didn't like be wound up with an electric drill. Isn't as bad as it sounds as everything still works fine. This is a superb addition from NZG and is well built. It is also surprisingly stable and can hold the jib from ground into the air. Can't think I'll be getting too many of them due to space but perhaps one or two more won't hurt. As a side note, I added the YCC cylinders to the crane last time around but they really need repainting due to the chips where they tighten up. I also added the 5t CW's but the blue does not quite match so I'll need to paint these as well at some point. Paul R

looks great Paul, i need to get me one of these luffers in a serious way, im thinking im gonna go with the black for Grohmann and another one for my custom that ill probably never finish LOL

Think I might also get the Grohmann version but without the extensions. I'd love to repaint a 11200 but time will tell if I actually do it. ROXU would be a consideration but if Whytes got one then it would that one for sure.

looks great paul! it also took longer than i expected to rig up, reeving the bridle too me about an hr!. got the cylinders ordered, just waiting for them to come in. you still havent finished that repaint zach  its been sitting forever! cant wait to see it done, whenever that will be haha

Brandon - still havent finished it, i havent touched it in probably 8 months, the past 5 months i have been pretty much working 12 hours 6 days a week so i havent had any time to even think about models and not having money for decals i just let it sit, once i get off this training pay i gotta find someone to make me decals and then i will finish it up, i honestly probably only need 3 or 4 good nights at Bob's house. 99% of it is painted, just gotta finish painting a few small bits, gotta reassemble, and decals

Not sure about a diorama yet. There is a spare bedroom upstairs that might become a diorama room. It's only small but might do the job. Other option is to build something in the middle of the model room once it is complete.

Looks great Paul! I am envious! I hope to find the time to rig up a couple here. I have a yellow one and the Grohmann on the way. The details look very nice for the $, I do wish NZG had put walkway detail on the lattice near the luffing arms, perhaps YCC will come out with a small kit one day.
