Jean-Jacques decided some times ago, to replicate the Richelmi Renault C260 6x4 truck fitted with a Marrel Ampliroll, which was driven by his father at the end of the eighties, before he retired.
- The model at building stage, with some MiniCams assistance:

- Close view of the Ampliroll rear equipment easing truck suspensions during tipper handling operations:

The heavy truck will be moved by a Scania R620 6x4/2 tractor (modified WSI model) on a Faymonville CombiMAX modular semi-trailer made of a 5-line rear module, extendable ultra-low beams and a 2-line integrated front dolly (Conrad elements):

Super model Guy. That Tractomas is a monster. That is a clever way to haul it. I did not realize that Tonkin made that model. Is it 1/50th scale? Craig

Craig,

During a very short period, Tonkin made 1/50 models: in fact, when some WSI key personnel left the Dutch model builder and joined the American one. These have since set the IMC company, which has taken-over ex-Tonkin 1/50 models range (the Tractomas was one of the few) and developped their own models, often using WSI and Tekno bases.

So Tonkin is back today to "business as usual" with their unusual 1/53 trucks range.

I hope it helps.

The Tractomas being too wide to freely run on European roads, all have to be moved on lowloaders for export. Here is one of the 8x8 Rotran when it was shipped to a North Sea harbor for export to South-Africa:

Guy both of the Jean’s customized Marrel dumpbodies are very nice, especially like the roll off chassis. Tell them great job.

Guy I know I’ve said it before but those small details (cement, pallets, wheel barrel, sand load and water tanker) really brand to life the dioramas. The rail car load with the cribbing at the trucks is also a very nice detail. Keep the pictures coming.

A quarter of a century earlier, NZG produced the Caterpillar 983 loader in a 1/50 scale:

Comparison between the "vintage" NZG model and the CCM unit produced in 2014 shows all modelling progress performed during the period:

Individually linked tracks.Metal,or, plastic.Are so much better,in every way.Compared to the older style,one piece,per side.We can only applaud all the manafacturers,for this advancement,alone.Really good,knowing the latest tracked model,will definitely have them,as a standard fitting.Teeth
